Abstract for the general public

This study will examine rates of perinatal depression in mothers presenting to Mackay Base Hospital obstetrics and gynaecology clinic. Prevalence and severity of depression will be assessed utilizing the patient Edinburgh Depression scores. Risk factors for perinatal depression will be assessed.
