Abstract for the general public

Distal radial fractures are one of the most common orthopaedic injuries in Australia. Following fixation, there are significant long term complications that can occur. The compication of pain is a completely separate entity from ‘complex regional pain syndrome’ and is, un-studied in post distal radius fixation patients.
