1. Summary

Abstract for the general public

Diverticular disease and acquired megacolon are colonic disorders causing significant morbidity. Definitive pathophysiology, prognosis, treatment and management of both conditions remain largely unknown; hence, further research is necessary. This study will investigate these conditions during colonoscopy to identify disease specific features.
